The Indonesia AID Scholarship (TIAS)

The Indonesian AID Scholarship is a scholarship program funded by the Government of Indonesia to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the field of education. The scholarship is available for Diploma, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree programs.

Requirement

Vocational and Undergraduate Programs

  1. Officially nominated by the Government of the Priority State.
  2. Willing to return and serve in their home country for a minimum of 2 (two) years after completing the study.
  3. Willing to confirm that the applicant is not at pregnancy period at the time of scholarship application
  4. Possess citizenship status from the priority state.
  5. Not registered as an active military member.
  6. Not currently or will be undergoing military service until the end of the academic period.
  7. Preferably have a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a government employee in their country.
  8. If currently employed, the applicant must provide a letter of permission (consent) from their current supervisor.
  9. Have an active passport with a minimum validity of 18 months from the registration date.
  10. The maximum age is 25 years old (for D3) and 30 years old (for D4/S1) on 31 July of the current application year.
  11. Proficient in the use of the English language. For non-English speaking countries, it is mandatory to attach a TOEFL ITP certificate with a minimum score of 477 or IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5 (prediction tests such as englishtest.duolingo.com or others are allowed), the certificate must be obtained within the last 2 Years. This requirement does not apply to countries that use English as the medium of instruction or departments that use Indonesian as the medium of instruction.
  12. Hold a high school diploma.
  13. Provide a certificate of employment in the government sector or equivalent documents for those already working.
  14. Attach a letter/document confirming good conduct and/or a clear criminal record from the relevant local authorities.
  15. Willing to undergo a health test after being announced as having passed the TIAS Program selection. Physically and mentally healthy, as evidenced by a health certificate from a certified doctor.

Postgraduate Programs

Master Degree

  1. Officially nominated by the Government of the Priority State.
  2. Willing to return and serve in their home country for a minimum of 2 (two) years after completing the study.
  3. Possess citizenship status from the priority state.
  4. Not registered as an active military member.
  5. Willing to confirm that the applicant is not at pregnancy period at the time of scholarship application.
  6. Not currently or will be undergoing mandatory military service until the end of the academic period.
  7. Have an active passport with a minimum validity of 18 months from the registration date.
  8. The maximum age is 42 years old on 31 July of the current application year.
  9. Preferably have a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a government employee in their country.
  10. If currently employed, the applicant must provide a letter of permission (consent) from their current supervisor.
  11. Provide a certificate of employment in the government sector or equivalent documents.
  12. Proficient in the use of the English language. For non-English speaking countries, it is mandatory to attach a TOEFL ITP certificate with a minimum score of 477 or IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5 (prediction tests such as englishtest.duolingo.com or others are allowed). This requirement does not apply to countries that use English as the medium of instruction or departments that use Indonesian as the medium of instruction.

Applicants must submit legalized or officially recognized academic transcripts and a Bachelor’s degree diploma (or equivalent), duly legalized or recognized by the Ministry of Education and/or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in their country of origin or country of residence.
  14. Attach a letter/document confirming good conduct and/or a clear criminal record from the relevant local authorities.
  15. Willing to undergo a health test after being announced as having passed the TIAS Program selection. Physically and mentally healthy, as evidenced by a health certificate from a certified doctor.

 

Doctoral Degree

  1. Officially nominated by the Government of the Priority State.
  2. Willing to return and serve in their home country for a minimum of 2 (two) years after completing the study.
  3. Possess citizenship status from the priority state.
  4. Not registered as an active military member.
  5. Willing to confirm that the applicant is not at pregnancy period at the time of scholarship application
  6. Not currently or will be undergoing mandatory military service until the end of the academic period.
  7. Have an active passport with a minimum validity of 18 months from the registration date.
  8. The maximum age is 47 years old on 31 July of the current application year.
  9. Preferably have a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a government employee in their country.
  10. If currently employed, the applicant must provide a letter of permission (consent) from their current supervisor.
  11. Provide a certificate of employment in the government sector or equivalent documents.
  12. Applicants must obtain a letter of recommendation from a prospective research supervisor at one of the universities administering the TIAS Scholarship.
  13. Applicants must submit a statement of purpose outlining their study objectives, the origin of their interest in studying in Indonesia and pursuing the selected research topic, as well as their future academic plans (dissertation proposal).
  14. Proficient in the use of the English language. For non-English speaking countries, it is mandatory to attach a TOEFL ITP certificate with a minimum score of 530 or IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 (prediction tests such as englishtest.duolingo.com or others are allowed), the certificate must be obtained within the last 2 Years. This requirement does not apply to countries that use English as the medium of instruction or departments that use Indonesian as the medium of instruction.
  15. Applicants must submit legalized or officially recognized academic transcripts and a Master’s degree diploma (or equivalent), duly legalized or recognized by the Ministry of Education and/or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in their country of origin or country of residence.
  16. Do not yet possess a previous doctoral degree.
  17. All research activities under the doctoral program are required to be conducted in Indonesia.
  18. Attach a letter/document confirming good conduct and/or a clear criminal record from the relevant local authorities.
  19. Willing to undergo a health test after being announced as having passed the TIAS Program selection. Physically and mentally healthy, as evidenced by a health certificate from a certified doctor.
